MedPharma Partners

David Williams began his career at the LEK Partnership, where he was a strategy consultant and mergers and acquisitions advisor in a variety of industries. Afterwards he worked for several years in the healthcare practice of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). For pharmaceutical clients, he led the development of an R&D capacity planning and management system, coordinated three post-merger integrations of major pharmaceutical companies, devised managed care contracting strategies, and helped big pharma work effectively with start-ups. For device companies, he led the development of strategies to capitalize on changes in Medicare rules and a shift in distribution channels. For managed care and providers, he developed turnaround strategies and redesigned payment process systems. In addition, he led the East Coast healthcare dinner series and was Dean of the Consultant class of 1998.

After BCG, he formed DEW Enterprises to focus on the commercialization of new healthcare technologies and then co-founded MedPharma Partners. Currently, David works with companies to transform medical technologies into profitable businesses, and helps large and small companies work together effectively. He also hosts a breakfast club for independent health care consultants.

David holds a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and an MBA from Harvard Business School, with First Year Honors. He is a lecturer in MIT’s graduate-level Dynamics of Biomedical Technologies course in the Biomedical Enterprise Program.
