Business Development and Corporate Development: AMID
AMID www.e-amid.com develops leading edge technology for the quantification of cardiovascular imaging. We began working with AMID in 2001 to devise a US market entry strategy. We developed a business and product development strategy, filed patent applications, and initiated the FDA 510(K) approval process.
Since 2002, we have led the company's business development efforts, which have resulted in a distribution and marketing agreement with Philips Medical Systems, a multi-year R&D partnership with Bracco/Esaote (a European pharmaceutical company), and a joint venture with the medical imaging contract research organization Beacon Bioscience to provide clinical trial services. We have also licensed AMID software to key opinion leaders in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Our work with AMID demonstrates the synergies between large and small companies. We have leveraged our relationships with large pharmaceutical companies to introduce AMID’s innovative technologies to decision makers in those organizations.
