A friend in Canada felt so sick that when she went to the hospital on Thursday she told the staff that she felt even worse than she had immediately after her two surgeries. They sent her home with instructions to follow up next Tuesday (tomorrow). By Saturday she felt even worse. Ambulance dispatch told a friend who called to expect an ambulance in 3 hours --the timing based on the perceived severity of the symptoms. The friend took her to the ER instead, where she was promptly taken into the ICU. But it was too late; she is in a coma and will almost certainly succumb to pneumococcal meningitis.

Any bets is one of those fake Canadian health care disaster stories that need to be fed to Americans to keep them dumb and happy.
The facts are the USA has the worst health care statistics in the developed world - and Americans pay about 3 times as much for the privilege of being ripped off

I don't disagree with your second paragraph, though.
Sorry - but fake or exagerrated stories about Canadian and British health care are all too common.
I lost a good in the USA this year because she was far too late going to the doctor for cancer treatment (money worries) . It would not have happened in the Canada or the UK.
That made me damned angry too. . . ..
