Good news/bad news
The good news is that antidepressants don't cause suicides, but the bad news is they don't often help patients with major depression either. That's according to a study published in the American Journal of Psychiatry and reported in the Boston Globe (Antidepressants' risk of suicide now called low).

What's true for adults is even more so for adolescents, unfortunately. The results of clinical trials of antidepressants in adolescents have been, well, depressing.
